Starting Research and Developing Practice Skills
In order to begin my advanced portfolio in media I will research the marketing campaign for the recently released film Battleship. I will looked at all of the marketing methods used and how the trailer, posters and magazine covers maintained a USP, signified the genre and had similar stylistic traits. Then using the Film Education Website I will have a go at devising my own trailer for the film employing my recently acquired knowledge about film marketing.
Brief
A Promotion Package for a new film, to include a teaser trailer, together with;
A film magazine front cover, featuring the film;
A poster for the film
The production element and presentation of research, planning and evaluation may be individual or group work (maximum group size or four candidates) Where candidates have worked in a group, the evidence for assessment may be presented collectively but centres will still assess candidates on an individual basis for their contribution to aspects of the work, from planning, research and production to evaluation.
